Eliane Piaggio PhD, Team Leader, DR1 INSERM Team Piaggio Tel: Back to the list

Dr. E. Piaggio obtained the diploma of clinical biologist and the PhD in Immunology at the National University of Rosario, Argentine. Then, she moved to France, where she did her post-doctoral studies and actually is a research director of the INSERM. She directs the "Translational Immunotherapy team” in the INSERM Unit 932: "Immunity and Cancer", at the Institut Curie, in Paris. Her career has been focused on regulatory T-cell based immunotherapy of infectious diseases (Chagas' disease), autoimmunity (mainly type 1 diabetes and multiple sclerosis/EAE), alloreactivity (GVHD and transplantation) and more recently, in cancer. Her team is interested in the study of human tumor-draining LNs and in the development of novel immunotherapies, translatable to patients.
