Dr. E. Piaggio obtained the diploma of clinical biologist and the PhD in Immunology at the National University of Rosario, Argentine. Then, she moved to France, where she did her post-doctoral studies and actually is a research director of the INSERM. She directs the "Translational Immunotherapy team” in the INSERM Unit 932: "Immunity and Cancer", at the Institut Curie, in Paris. Her career has been focused on regulatory T-cell based immunotherapy of infectious diseases (Chagas' disease), autoimmunity (mainly type 1 diabetes and multiple sclerosis/EAE), alloreactivity (GVHD and transplantation) and more recently, in cancer. Her team is interested in the study of human tumor-draining LNs and in the development of novel immunotherapies, translatable to patients.
