The Curie Institute Research Center develop basic research and use this knowledge to improve the diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutics of cancers as part of the continuum between basic research and innovation serving the patient.
Description of the project:
This project is funded by the French national Cancer Institute (Inca). It aims to understand the role of the EWS-FLI1 oncoprotein in Ewing sarcoma development with a particular focus on the ability of its EWS low-complexity domain to promote phase separation and transcription activation at GGAA microsatellite repeats. It will explore in depth the dynamics of transcription regulation in Ewing cells and the role of microsatellite polymorphisms in genetic susceptibility. It is conducted in collaboration with the physics group of Mathieu Coppey at Institut Curie and takes strong advantage of optogenetic tools developed by this group.
Candidate requirements (technical, language, skills …):
The successful candidate should demonstrate strong interest for interdisciplinary research and broad expertise in biology as genetics, single cell analysis, cell signalling or imaging. Knowledge in computational biology will be highly appreciated.
In addition, s/he should have excellent communication skills, be team players and have a strong affinity with working in an interdisciplinary and international research environment.
Experience level / degrees required:
Doctoral and/or postdoctoral experience.
